Kendel Spicy Corned Beef Chili Con Carne

Description

A bold, hearty dish combining Kendel corned beef, beans, spices, and heat for a comforting chili packed with Caribbean character.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (12oz) Kendel Spicy Corned Beef
  • 1 tablespoon Kendel Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 3 cans Kendel Dark Red Kidney Beans
  • 4 tablespoons Kendel Olive Pomace Oil
  • ½ sweet pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks scallion, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add sweet pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until the onion is translucent.
  2.  Add the corned beef, break it up with a spoon as you stir it into the sautéed vegetables.
  3.  Stir in black pepper, oregano, basil, paprika, chili powder, and dried parsley. Mix well to
    combine.
  4.  Add tomato ketchup, hot pepper sauce and sugar. Stir thoroughly, reduce heat, and let simmer for about 20 minutes until the flavours are well blended.
  5.  Remove from heat and serve hot.
