Fried Dumplings

Description

Golden, crispy, and irresistibly soft inside, these iconic dumplings are the perfect companion to breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Kendel All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 cup Kendel Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together, flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Rub in the margarine until the pieces are no larger than peas
  3. Mix in water, 1 tablespoon at a time just until the mixture is wet enough to form into a ball. The mixture should be of a firm consistency. Do not over-knead
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  5. Divide dough into pieces and shape into balls. Place just enough in the frying pan so they are not overcrowded.
  6. Fry on each side for about 3 minutes.
  7.  Remove from pan and drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
